Directions to Domowka Cafe
A domowka in Polish translates to a house party and this is the spirit that has been created at this café. You can feel at home but yet be in a cosy environment where you can mingle with interesting people until the early hours. Domowka Cafe is located in the Jewish district of Kazimierz, possibly the trendiest part of the city.
People come here to enjoy a drink, have a chat and play classic board games and computer games. The décor is very homely with tables and chairs closely put together which makes meeting new people very easy. Lots of pictures are located around the room as well as bookshelves randomly hanging from different sections of the walls. Vinyl records decorate parts of the room and combine with swirling designs and plain but colourfully painted walls to create an interior that is not very uniform and therein lies the charm. This is not the type of modern bar that alienates people from each other.
At Domowka, there is a wide range of Polish, Czech beers and other liqueurs to enjoy. Coffee and a selection of teas and soft drinks are also available. Try one of their cakes with a coffee.
Happy hours every day until 6pm. There are weekly organised evenings to brighten up your social life. Every Thursday there is a board game evening from 7pm. Fancy dress and themed parties take place on Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm and on Sunday there is karaoke from 8pm.
