Hotel Maksymilian Krakow
Krakow
Looking at hotels in Krakow city center? The Hotel Maksymilian offers comfortable Krakow guest rooms in the Kleparz neighborhood, just to the north of the historic Krakow Old Town, part of the Stare Miasto district. The hotel is within walking distance of the Main Market Square, where you’ll find many of the places of interest in Krakow. The Hotel Maksymilian is in a historic tenement house built in 1871, one of the first of many such buildings constructed along Karmelicka Street. The architect of the building, Maksymilian Nitsch, is thought to have lived with his family in one of the flats on the first floor. Between 2008 and 2010, the building was renovated to provide a modern reception area and guest accommodations without losing the shape and character of a 19th century tenement. Located in the Kleparz neighborhood, the Hotel Maksymilian is about 3 city blocks from the northwest edge of Planty Park, a chain of small parklands and gardens where the medieval city walls once stood, encircling the historic Karkow Old Town. Adorned with monuments and fountains, the park itself is a popular destination for walking in good weather. Within the Planty park belt are most of the historic sites of old Krakow, including the Main Market Square (Rynek Glowny in Polish) and the gothic Wawel Castle on the Vistula River. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Plac Inwalidow bus stop (near the photography museum called Muzeum Historii Fotografii w Krakowie), which provides easy access to the main Krakow international airport, John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice, via bus routes 208, 292, and 902.
