The theme of Monica Krzakiewicz’s paintings are feminine nudes incorporated into the decorative background, with accompanying symbolic elements like apples - a symbol of temptation and sin, but at the same time of fertility, birds - the harbinger of salvation and the symbol of peace, but also the symbol of unlimited freedom and the human soul. Magnolias - symbolizing purity, fidelity, but above all the feminine glow of a young girl.
Monika Krzakiewicz is also fascinated by dance, is the author of a series of ballerinas, who carry legible references to the paintings of Edgar Degas. Their tulle white and pink dresses sift through their delicate matter, gold shining in the background. The little girls also are dancing, once in ballet, once in highlanders' costumes, drawing air ornaments with pink ribbons, or spinning in circles, joyful, overwhelmed by music.
Children ... we can meet so many of them in the artist's paintings. Little princesses sitting on the back of a big steed, three little girls with pigtails playing on swings just above the surface of the water, as if referring to Fragonard, singing boys in plaid shirts. The richness of children's types, gallery of exquisite paintings.
And at the end, the cranes, a year ago observed on the Mazury lakes, delicious in black, white and gray colors, with red feathers on the head, against the background of russet bulrush.
The painting structure of Monika's paintings is refined and shabby at the same time, gold and silver are patinated, giving the appearance of flaky polychrome. Dialogue between characters and the background looking as old frescoes, seduces those who look at them. /Zofia Weiss, 2017/
