Our stay at the Grand Hotel was truly wonderful and will be remembered for years to come. From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed by beautiful interiors, timeless elegance, and the unique atmosphere of historic Kraków right at your doorstep. The hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Grand Hotel and would happily return. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kraków!
We were in room 55. Lovely room size. No hot water for the duration of our stay (4 nights). We reported it on the second morning, but no improvement. Breakfast was amazing. Great start to the day (after a cold shower 🚿). Great location for exploring Krakow and getting train. Not many of the "little extra special touches" you'd normally get in a hotel of this price.
Great historic hotel, well located just off main square, staff excellent very attentive and friendly. Very clean and good facilities. Be careful in bath/shower in some rooms as bit slippy.
The only real highlight of this hotel is its excellent location, which makes it very convenient for exploring the city. Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay were disappointing and not what we would expect from a 5-star hotel. When we arrived, our room keys were already prepared and waiting in envelopes, and the room appeared ready. However, we were not allowed to check in until exactly 4pm, even though many hotels are happy to allow early check-in when rooms are available. The room amenities were also surprisingly limited. We were provided with three bottles of shampoo and one bottle of body lotion, but no conditioner and no body wash. Basic items such as a dental kit were not included, and when we asked the front desk we were told we would need to purchase one, which felt unusual for a hotel of this standard. Another disappointment was the view from the room, which looked directly onto a wall, making the room feel quite closed in. Additionally, we were asked to place a €100 deposit for the minibar, even though we had no intention of using it. We were told this would be refunded at checkout. While the minibar itself contained only a few small bottles and snacks, this policy felt unnecessary and was something we had never encountered before at other hotels. Overall, while the location is great, the level of amenities, flexibility, and service did not reflect what we would normally expect from a five-star property.
Friendly enough desk staff at check in. Our first room was absolutely freezing. Our clothes were even damp from it. The heating wasn't working correctly. We asked the night porter to replace our kettle as it was broken and when he came to the room he commented on the cold and tried to adjust the radiator but we were t offered an alternative room or any other form of heating. We asked the second day morning about the heating and our room was changed. The second room was very nice and very hot. The breakfast has a great selection and a waiter was around all of the time to help with any requests. The hotel is stunning, it is an old palace. It is extremely quiet we felt totally alone here. Usually in a hotel there would be people around and sitting in areas or walking through, but not here. There is a lack of signage and accessibility to their facilities. They have a sauna and small gym but there is no signage or information and you have to give notice to use it. There are no information areas about excursions or local attractions. I would recommend to a friend, it is a beautiful grand building, but it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes. It doesn't have any qualities I would associate with a 5 star hotel.
