Seriously, was very happy to have found Hotel Matejko. Service was great, room was clean and bed comfortable. And location ideal. Few minute walk from Krakow Glowny in one direction, the other a five minute walk to beautiful Old Town. Can't go wrong! Thank you, Hotel Matejko!
We stayed in the big red room with a balcony. Unfortunately the real feel outside was -7 😂 so we did not spend much time out on the balcony during our stay, but still nice to know that you can if you want to. The rooms are a bit run down tho' if you are there to enjoy the city for a few days it is not even a negative. But in that case it would have been a big big positive if the bed was slightly more comfortable. But unlike some reviews say the room, the sheets, and the bathroom were very clean. The room temperature was high enough to balance out the continental winter situation outside. The location is really a bonus. It is not only close to the city centre and the train/bus station, there are a couple of essential shops, markets, restaurants and bars on both sides of the hotel.
Big big thanks for such a great service!😍 I got help with late check-in after arrival at 01:00 am, communication was clear and everything went smooth and friendly 🙌🏻 The room was clean, in the shower I got all essentials needed as well as perfectly hot water🙏🏻 The breakfast was tasty, diverse and fresh as well! The hotel is located right next to a church which gives a great window view from the dining area ☺️ I enjoyed my stay at the hotel - thanks to the whole team who made it smooth and calm to me!
Hotel Matejko is located in a central area of Krakow. A 3-minute walk from the hotel leads to the Old Town, STARE MIASTO. Behind the hotel, on the same street, are many mini markets and shops selling everyday necessities, making the hotel a prime and central location. The hotel is well-connected by public transportation, including trains (the station is a 6-minute walk away), buses, and trams (a 3-minute walk away). The hotel staff is very friendly and polite, ready to accommodate any guest request. The reception is open 24 hours a day and can arrange taxis for guests to the airport. Breakfast is a generous buffet with sweet and savory options, such as scrambled eggs, sausages, cakes, freshly cut fruit, as well as yogurt, milk, and other beverages. The rooms are large, the bathroom is spacious, and the shower is new. The water pressure is good and the temperature can be adjusted. The rooms are in good condition (although I personally don't like the carpeting). I stayed at the hotel in the winter, and the room temperature was pleasant—dry and warm, perfect for the cold and humid winter months typical of Krakow. Check-in was quick, and they gave us our room right away. During check-out, we asked to leave our bags in the luggage store so we could easily explore the city for the last few hours before heading to the airport.
