Your expert guide will take you through 1,400 square meters of interactive exhibits on two floors, featuring hundreds of artifacts from the Museum of Krakow. Many displays are designed to be touched and experienced, giving children a hands-on encounter with history.
Start in the Lajkonik dressing room to meet one of Krakow’s iconic symbols preparing for his annual parade. On Level -1, explore Krakow’s medieval past through works by sculptor Bronisław Chromy, try on medieval armor, hold royal scepters, and interact with historic vehicles and street signs.
On Level +1, learn about daily life in Krakow through the ages with works by artists Wyspiański and Mehoffer, view flags from Krakow’s universities, and explore contemporary exhibitions. A notable installation features a tree made of plastic bottles surrounded by famous Krakow residents and their pets.
The tour concludes with a walk-through experience of a life-size Krakow Nativity scene (szopka), expanding the traditional miniature Christmas tradition into an immersive room-sized display.
Throughout the visit, interactive and multimedia elements enhance your understanding of Krakow’s history. Visitors can try on traditional costumes, interact with the statue of the city dog Dżok, and enjoy color-coded displays that keep younger guests engaged.
