Description
Discover the heart of Krakow in the most dynamic and enjoyable way — by bike! This guided tour through the historic Old Town offers a perfect combination of sightseeing, storytelling, and light activity, making it an ideal choice for visitors who want to cover more ground while experiencing the charm and culture of this remarkable city.
Your journey begins in the center of Krakow’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, where your friendly local guide will provide you with a comfortable bike and safety instructions before setting off. As you pedal through the cobbled streets and scenic lanes, you’ll pass by some of the city’s most iconic landmarks — all while enjoying fresh air and a relaxed pace.
Ride along the famous Royal Route, once used by Polish kings during ceremonial processions. Admire the St. Florian’s Gate, a beautifully preserved remnant of the city’s medieval fortifications, and the Barbican, a circular fortress that once guarded the city’s entrance.
The tour continues to Main Market Square, Europe’s largest medieval town square. Here you’ll see the stunning St. Mary’s Basilica, the historic Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), and the Town Hall Tower, all surrounded by bustling cafés and street performers. Your guide will share captivating stories and local legends that bring these places to life.
Next, cycle through the quiet courtyards of Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest universities in the world and alma mater of famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Then follow the route to Wawel Hill, where the grand Wawel Royal Castle and Wawel Cathedral overlook the Vistula River. This area is rich in history and mythology, including the famous tale of the Wawel Dragon, which your guide will recount as you visit the legendary Dragon’s Den.
Whether you’re a history lover, a casual explorer, or just looking for a unique way to see the city, this guided bike tour is the perfect way to experience the beauty and magic of Krakow’s Old Town.
