Description
The permanent exhibition in the former seat of the Enamel Museum shows primarily the tragedy of World War II in individual and collective dimensions. It also presents the everyday life of occupied Krakow, recorded in ordinary objects, photographs, newspapers, personal and official documents. Thanks to artifacts and multimedia treatments, each visitor can directly touch the history and feel the emotions of the inhabitants of the war-time city.
So, with your guide, wander through Krakow: visit a photographer and a tailor, an authentic photo-artist, get on a tram through the windows of which you can see a film of the city's life, go through the tight labyrinth of the ghetto with a Jewish apartment located there, and then find yourself together with its inhabitants. in the camp in Płaszów...
Although it is not a biographical museum, the figure of the wartime factory owner, Oskar Schindler, who saved over a thousand Krakow Jews, is presented at the exhibition as part of the city's complicated wartime history. Oskar Schindler's heroic deed is recalled in his office, fortunately preserved in the factory's administrative building, which houses a symbolic 'ark of survivors' made of thousands of pots resembling those produced by his employees during the war.
Every day, tourists from all countries of the world want to personally go to the place where history is taking place, recalled in the cult film from 1993.
