A top venue for serious jazz lovers.
Klub U Muniaka is a legendary jazz club located in a 14th century cellar on Florianska Street, one of the most famous streets in Krakow. Since 1991 it has established itself as a venue with a difference due to the reputation it has built up as a place for good jazz. It is perfectly located only a short walk to the impressive Market Square and other popular tourist sights.
From street level, walk down the steps into the basement to a jazz club with a wonderful timeless atmosphere. The brick interior walls and barrel-vaulted ceiling create acoustics ideal for jazz. It's no wonder that international and Polish musicians such as Nigel Kennedy, Wynton Marsalis, Lee Konitz, Tomasz Stanko, Wojciech Karolak and Zbigniew Namyslowski have all played here.
Despite the rather natural appearance of the interior, the seating is comfortable allowing visitors to sit back and enjoy the quality music on offer. The bar is well stocked with Polish and international drinks - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
There are concerts every night of the week from world class acts - local and sometimes international. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, one of Poland's top musicians, Janusz Muniak, performs a high standard jazz set. There are many music clubs in Krakow but if you are looking for jazz of a high calibre in a unique setting, Jazz Klub U Muniaka is the place to go to.
