OUT AND ABOUT: NOMAD KIJOWSKA — NEIGHBORHOOD COMFORT, UPSCALE BITES, AND PERFECT HOSPITALITY UPDATE: New Favorite … Tacos! Fresh guacamole and sour cream over the most delicious meat filling. Crispy crunchy shell. YUM!! Every neighborhood needs that one reliable sanctuary—the place you head to when you don’t feel like cooking, can’t decide what you want, or simply crave a remarkably juicy burger. For Scott and me, that spot is NOMAD on Aleja Kijowska. Perfectly situated off the beaten path in a quiet, lovely residential area, NOMAD established itself as a modern culinary destination bringing fresh, upscale bistro comfort to the neighborhood. The space strikes a wonderful balance. You can sit outside on the patio or relax in the well-appointed, upscale interior. The lighting fixtures are mesmerizing, creating a comfortable glow ideal for everything from an intimate table for two to a party of twelve. On our latest visit, our waitress, Natalia, delivered the kind of thoughtful service that elevates a meal. She started by asking if I wanted ice with my drink—"Yes!" In a restaurant of this caliber, a glass with ice is a welcome amenity. When checking on us, she avoided the intrusive routine common in US service, striking just the right demeanor of genuine care. Upon bringing the invoice, she even briefed us on upcoming daily specials. Living right nearby, that touch made us feel truly welcomed as locals. The menu offers a fresh variety, from fish options and tacos to pork ribs slathered in barbecue sauce and perfectly executed burgers ("What doneness would you like on your burger?" is always music to my ears). Prices are very reasonable for the quality presented. Our bottom line? NOMAD puts on an outstanding offering with fresh, expertly prepared food. My only critique—and I've been meaning to mention it for months—is the roasted corn cobblets. They carry great grill marks, so they clearly have the technology, but they turn out tough and spongy (think wet kitchen sponge) rather than crisp and springy. Fix the corn game, and it’s absolute perfection! We highly recommend NOMAD to everyone. Grzegorz Bessmer | Earth Specialist | iTravel.earth Citizen of the world. Traveler of the earth.
I found this place by accident searching for a cauliflower "steak" in Krakow on Google. I would say it is a hidden gem outside of the tourist attractions and I am very glad we came here for dinner. The service was very attentive and friendly. We had salmon tartar, which was good, but not mind-blowing. Cauliflower steak was beautifully served and was absolutely delicious. We had a bottle of local wine, which was surprisingly good and was recommended by staff. The only negative thing, which I think is worth mentioning is the playlist - it was on repeat and shuffle, and I heard Gasolina a few too many times. ;)
Stunning modern restaurant featuring dramatic golden crescent pendant lights, polished concrete floors, and blush velvet banquettes. Premium wine bar with craft cocktails, full-service dining, business lunch spot with spacious layout. Perfect for date nights, group celebrations, and Instagram-worthy ambiance lovers seeking sophisticated cuisine!
