Step beneath Kraków’s Main Market Square and uncover centuries of history at the Rynek Underground Museum. With skip-the-line admission and an expert local guide, you’ll explore nearly 4,000 square metres of underground exhibition space filled with archaeological remains, reconstructed merchant stalls, and fascinating medieval artifacts.
State-of-the-art multimedia displays—including holograms, interactive touchscreens, and immersive films—bring medieval Kraków to life, recreating the sights and sounds of one of Central Europe’s busiest trading centres. Wander along the preserved remains of ancient streets, discover 11th-century burials, and learn how merchants, craftsmen, and travellers shaped the city’s vibrant past.
Throughout the 1.5-hour guided tour, your expert guide will share captivating stories about medieval commerce, everyday life, religion, and the remarkable archaeological discoveries hidden beneath the square. For groups of 15 or more participants, audio headsets are provided to ensure everyone can comfortably follow the commentary.
After returning to the surface, you’ll see Kraków’s Main Market Square from a whole new perspective. Surrounded by landmarks such as St. Mary’s Basilica and the Cloth Hall, you’ll appreciate the rich layers of history that lie just beneath your feet.
