Begin your private tour by visiting the church and Gothic cloisters of the Dominican order, with the oldest parts dating back to the 13th century. Discover a collection of paintings illustrating the saints and events from the history of the order, historical tombstones and epitaphs, as well as medieval stained glass. Admire the church interior, which represents the Neo-Gothic style, with chapels preserving Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. See the beautiful Gothic portal (main entrance to the church). Next, visit the Franciscan church and cloisters. The church itself originates from the 13th century and was rebuilt several times. Nowadays, it is famous for its interior decorated by one of the most talented artists of 19th/20th Poland, Stanislaw Wyspianski. Apart from the wall paintings presenting Polish flowers, see impressive stained glass windows inside with the most famous of the God Father. After visiting the church, go for a short walk in the cloisters (15th century) hosting the collection of epitaphs and paintings of Krakow bishops from the late Gothic, through Renaissance and Baroque, to the current times (John Paul II). Close to the Franciscan church, see the famous Papal window, located at the Bishop's Palace in Krakow. After visiting the Dominican and Franciscan churches, take a short break for coffee and sandwiches (at your own cost). After the break, drive to Tyniec Abbey, the oldest abbey in Poland, established in the mid-11th century. Visit the church, the Gothic cloisters, and the archeological reserve. The oldest preserved parts of the first Romanesque church are made available for tourists in the form of the archeological reserve under the floor of the existing church. From the inner yard of the abbey, enjoy a beautiful view of the Vistula River. The abbey itself is located on the limestone cliff and through the centuries had also a defensive function. Take a short walk along the Vistula River to see the impressive cliffs from the outside. Make an additional coffee and souvenir break at the monastery to purchase local Benedictine products.
