Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Warsaw early in the morning. Pickup time varies depending on your scheduled entry to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
At Auschwitz, join a 3.5-hour guided group tour starting at the original Auschwitz camp, established by German Nazis in 1940 near Oświęcim. The camp is now a museum preserving evidence of the Holocaust, including a multilingual film about its liberation.
Next, visit the Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II), created in 1941. Between 1942 and 1945, around 1.5 million people were imprisoned and murdered there, mainly Jews along with Poles, Roma, Russians, and others. Auschwitz-Birkenau was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
After the tour, travel for 1.5 hours to Krakow, where you will have three hours of free time to explore the Main Market Square, the largest medieval town square in Europe. Nearby sights include Wawel Hill with its Cathedral and Royal Castle, the Town Hall Tower, St. Mary’s Basilica, the Krakow Barbican, and Sukiennice (Cloth Hall).
