On this 7-hour trip from Krakow you’ll visit the former concentration and extermination camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest of the Third Reich. You’ll see the fortified walls, barbed wire, platforms, barracks, gallows, gas chambers, and cremation ovens where the genocide by the Nazis took place. This site is the symbol of humanity's cruelty to its fellow human beings in the 20th century. According to historical investigations, 1.5 million people, among them a great number of Jews, were systematically starved, tortured, murdered, and gassed to death in this camp.
