Harris Piano Jazz Bar
Krakow is a city that supports music in a big way and at the heart of the music scene is the iconic Harris Piano Jazz Bar. Located at a prestigious address in the Market Square, this venue is the only place in Poland and only the second in Europe to host concerts every single day of the week.
Since 1997, Harris Piano Jazz Bar has been the setting for intimate concerts and jam sessions where audiences are invited to participate in creating evenings to remember. Every Monday and Wednesday there are corporate events. These include jazz jam sessions, funk jam sessions, Latin jam sessions, blues, rock and more. Tuesdays is for traditional jazz fans and on Friday you can hear blues and rock 'n' roll. On Saturday you can enjoy the different types of music from Polish or foreign artists. Many cultural events are held here such as book promotions, photography exhibitions and also workshops.
In this cavernous, underground music club there are three rooms. The concert room is an intimate space which was designed to bring the musicians and the audience together to create a special atmosphere. The second room is a quieter space ideal for a chat where you can watch and listen to concerts on a plasma screen. The bar has one of the longest counters in the city and this is where you can choose from the rich selection of drinks on offer. The bar and the interior were designed by the artist Krzysztof Ludwin.
Many well-known names have performed at Harris Piano Jazz Bar including Art Farmer (tp.), Gary Bartz (saxophone), Mike Stern (guitar), Robert Flaming (percussion) and many more. It is a place where cultures can meet and you never know who you might come across in there.
