Directions to Trzy Rybki
Trzy Rybki, which means 'three fishes', is the name of the acclaimed restaurant in the exclusive Stary Hotel. Situated just off the Main Market Square, this elegant old townhouse has been transformed into a stunning boutique hotel that is considered one of the best places to stay in Krakow. The large dining room and bar on the ground floor boast high vaulted Gothic ceilings and windows, with an interior design that contrasts exposed brickwork with rich wood and leather; a trip upstairs in the glass-walled lift brings you to a roof terrace with spectacular views onto the Main Square, the Cloth Hall and St Mary's church.
The menu displays an enticing blend of modernity and tradition, fusing seasonal variations with classic Polish cuisine. Thus the autumn and winter emphasise game, mushrooms and forest fruits, whilst spring and summer give more room to fresh vegetables. Whatever the time of year, the focus is on flavour and freshness and presentation.
Nor should the desserts be overlooked, with some particularly guilty pleasures expertly prepared for those with a sweet tooth. There is an extensive and well-chosen wine list, and the bar staff are amply skilled in mixing the best cocktails.
For business visitors there are also excellent and fully up-to-date conference facilities that can accommodate anything from small meetings to banquets and balls. It's also a fantastic location for weddings, and with its combination of award-winning food, top-class service and terrific ambience, 3 Rybki falls comfortably into the category of 'must-visit' places (however difficult it is to pronounce its name).
