Vintage Restaurant & Wine Bar
Krakow's nightlife is vibrant and diverse; as you head out into the glow of the Old Town lights, you're bombarded with every imaginable choice of pub, bar, café, restaurant, music club and more. But wine tasting is still a relatively rare pastime on the Cracovian scene, making the new Vintage Restaurant and Wine Bar a very welcome addition to the Old Town Market Square.
Vintage Restaurant and Wine Bar's enviable location right on the main square, in the very centre of Krakow's atmospheric bustle, makes it too good to miss. You can gaze through latticed windows at the square's ancient architecture, or enjoy a sunny afternoon at a garden table, sipping a glass of wine and gazing at the spires of the Mariacki Church as bells toll and the trumpet sounds the hour. While all the usual café fare can be found, the real attraction here is the sixteen or so different varieties of wine - most of them the bar's own imports - which, thanks to special dispensers, can all be offered by the glass. Add to this a menu of traditional delights, such as steaks in rich sauces, roast duck or homemade pierogi, as well as very affordable breakfast and lunch offers, and you'll probably find yourself coming back for seconds.
The design of the place preserves historic architectural relics while imposing a veneer of modern elegance. The interior of the restaurant includes one of only three original coffered ceilings in Poland, original columns and restored frescoes. On this backdrop, the décor is smooth and contemporary, with glossy wood tables, smooth leather banquettes and marbled walls. With its glow of golden hues and warm wood tones, Vintage Restaurant and Wine Bar exudes an atmosphere at once welcoming and exclusive.
