Hammam Shahrazad is the first traditional Turkish bath in Poland. Here they use traditional Turkish methods and ingredients for a truly genuine experience. It is a welcome escape from the city hardships and is only three hundred metres from the Main Market Square in Krakow.
The Hammam or Turkish bath is known to have many positive effects on the immune system, respiratory system and skin among others. It reduces toxins in the body, helps with weight loss and has many more beneficial effects on the body and mind. In contrast to other saunas which have hotter air and drier heat, the temperature at this Turkish bath is lower (between 37-40C) making it more pleasant.
There are different packages to choose from where you can also have a variety of massages which can relieve your body from stress and pain. You can have the Hammam self-service where you are provided with soup, keesa (exfoliating glove) and special shoes but are expected to take care of yourself. Hammam with keesa is where you can get a complete exfoliation followed by a rub with olive oil soup and lastly a head massage with shampoo. There are many other massages depending on your requirements. Every guest is supplied with a special towel, wooden clogs, soap and individual lockers and showers.
At Hammam Shahrazad there is also a restaurant where you can enjoy the delights of Middle-East cuisine such as hummus, falafel and mousse. The coffee is prepared by a traditional Arabic recipe and you can also smoke a water pipe while here. Opening hours are 10-11pm from Monday to Sunday excluding Wednesday when the centre is closed.
