Loza
Krakow
Loza bar and restaurant is, above all, a meeting place for leading figures of Krakow's cultural scene, founded as an Actor's Club to promote interaction between great minds. It seems people-watching and star-spotting are as much of an attraction here as delicious cocktails and comfy summer seating right on the Main Square. Loza's clients are primarily actors, film producers, local city leaders and businesspeople, and both the bar and restaurant provide an excellent atmosphere for meetings, discussions and interviews with famous figures. The Actor's Club organizes cultural events such as recitals, interviews, vernissages and various performances.
The ground floor of Loza contains a bar with a very modern style, comfortable seating on deep white rectangular sofas, and vividly painted murals squarely set on pristine walls. The lower part includes a slightly larger restaurant and banquet hall, arranged with simple elegance. A highlight of the bar is definitely its outdoor seating, placed conveniently along one side of the Main Square, offering a view of the Sukiennice, Mariacki Church, rows of beautiful old buildings, and passing horse-drawn carriages and street performers winding their way around market stalls.
The menu at Loza covers everything from breakfast to an after-dinner drink, with a full page of ice cream desserts, tasty cakes and pies, and a very wide selection of alcoholic drinks, including brandy and cognac, vodkas, liquers, whiskey and bourbon, beer, and a creative list of cocktails. Those more interested in a hearty meal will find many favourites from both Polish and Italian cuisine, including hot and cold starters, salads, a variety of soups, pizzas, pastas, meat fresh from the grill, and a few Polish classics such as pierogi with cabbage or meat, duck in cranberry sauce, and traditional cheesecake.
