What Fine Dining Should Be...... SPECTACULAR Experience and Kasha our Server was precise, timely and polite. The Venison with the Toasted Hazelnuts and Black Truffle will leave you speechless it is so delicious.....The Lamb from Poland was the best lamb I have ever eaten and I wish they exported heavily to America. Lastly, the Chateaubriand....words fall short to describe it......The atmosphere and history or this amazing restaurant are amazing. You dine overlooking the square. This is the place to celebrate life and food at. Well done ✅
This restaurant was recommended by a Polish client of mine in Switzerland. It was a great experience from beginning to end! I highly recommend the ambience, food and service were perfect.
We made our reservation much in advance for a group of 7. Our dinner time was set for 18:45. After the waitress took our order, she came back saying that pierogi were sold out (!!!) unfortunately more than half of the group ordered them so we needed to change our order. Unfortunately this was the only vegetarian dish ( from the main dishes) … so it was quite disappointing.the dinner selection is not really wide, and we were wondering, how was this possible that at 18:45 a restaurant like this can run out from one and only vegetarian dish! The kitchen also did not offer any substitute for the guests at all. The service was nice and polite but took forever, seemed like they forgot about us. There were also some mistakes on the bill. For example we were charged for 10 bottles of water when we only had 6! Truly unacceptable. The view and the interior are splendid and compensated some of the flaws, but I will most probably not come back there anymore. I left hungry but paid 120pln for small beer, water and a starter.
We could not have had a better experience here for dinner in Kraków. Not only was the atmosphere incredible, as the second oldest restaurant in Poland; the chef prepared an amazing wild boar bourginone and truffled veal (as well as other great selections), and our host Piotr made the evening unforgettable by showing us the historic restaurant and educating us on its storied past. Absolutely our favorite place in Kraków, and I highly recommend that you make this a destination when you visit Poland.
We dined as a table of four and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was excellent, very attentive staff, exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the locality of the produce, wines, and dishes, which added depth and authenticity to the meal. The food was truly exceptional. The chefs clearly take great pride in presenting refined Old Polish cuisine, with beautifully prepared aromatic meats, fresh fish, traditional accompaniments, and rich forest mushrooms. Each dish felt thoughtfully composed and full of flavour. The wine selection is vast and well curated, offering something to complement every course. The interior is lovely, with a warm and inviting atmosphere, particularly in the first-floor dining area where we were seated. One small observation: the ground floor appeared empty when we arrived, which could give the impression that the restaurant is not busy. However, the upstairs dining area was very much in use and created a great ambience. Overall, a superb dining experience — highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy authentic, high-quality Old Polish cuisine with excellent service.
